Yeah, we have been using laptops instead of desktops for quite some while now. My current machine is a 13" Macbook Pro with an SSD drive and I couldn’t be happier with it’s performance.

I have used my laptop as a desktop with dual monitor also, and I don't notice any performance problems with my Dual Core Duo Sony Laptop. Not sure where the cons are, I guess with power supply and overheating. My laptop doesn't get very hot though so... who knows.
